Pak Cricket - Stop Blaming India for your ills
Taliban - The Ghosh who wanted work
Pak out of Cup host list
Dubai, April 17 (Agencies): Cricket’s world governing body today removed Pakistan as a co-host of the 2011 World Cup because of the “uncertain security situation” in the country.
Former Pakistan captain Zaheer Abbas alleged the move was part of a campaign by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to try and isolate Pakistan after the 26/11 attacks.
India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the other World Cup co-hosts, will now share the 16 matches scheduled in Pakistan.
“It is a regrettable decision (but) our number one priority is to create certainty and... deliver a safe, secure and successful event,” International Cricket Council (ICC) president David Morgan said after a meeting of the executive board in Dubai.
“The uncertainty created by events in Pakistan created a huge question mark over our ability to do just that.”
At least seven Pakistanis were killed and six Sri Lanka players, a coach and an umpire were injured during a terrorist attack on the cricketers’ team bus as they travelled to a Test match in Lahore on March 3.
An ICC release said Pakistan was unlikely to host any international cricket “in the immediate future” but added that the country would receive all help so that its senior and A teams could play their “full programme of matches”.
Zaheer said: “I don’t believe that with India being in such an influential position in world cricket, the ICC could have decided to shift the World Cup matches from Pakistan without its support.”
He added: “Look at the way things have gone since the Mumbai incident. First they cancelled their tour to Pakistan. Then they tried their best to stop Sri Lanka from accepting our invitation and then influenced the Bangladesh board to cancel our tour to Bangladesh last month. They then did not allow our players into the Indian Premier League and now this shifting of matches.”
Morgan said: “It is extremely regrettable that the board has had to take this decision given the passion the people of Pakistan have for the game of cricket and for the ICC Cricket World Cup.”
Losing Cup hosting rights may cost Pakistan nearly $10 million, and Morgan said the country could be compensated. “It (compensation) can be considered as Pakistan spent money and has lost World Cup revenues.”
The ICC had last year postponed the Champions Trophy, the second most important one-day event, after several teams refused to play in Pakistan because of security concerns.
Many Pakistanis felt the ICC had been hasty. Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed said: “Two years is a long time. Things always change quickly on the subcontinent.”
The ICC has also decided to form a panel for a comprehensive review of security arrangements for all international cricket, agreeing to approach other sports for information-sharing on security around the world.
Pakistan has always been noted for blaming India for all its ills just as India was once known to blame USA for all its misfortunes. The CPM still continues to do so.
Zaheer Abbas and other Pak cricketers are once again blaming India for losing out on hosting the next cricket world cup in Pakistan.
They do not care to see the recent massacre in Lahore where 5 people died and many others were injured.
They do not see the fact that Pakistan's sovereignty has been bartered away to the Taliban. But it is as expected.
One Bhutto by the name of Zulfikar lost one arm of Pakistan when he failed to respect the verdict of the people and sent the army to East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) since Mujibur Rehman had won a majority in the elections.
Another Bhutto, Mr. Benazir Bhutto( Zardari) has bartered away the NWFP to the Taliban, which will soon capture the whole of Pakistan.
Instead of seeing what is going on internally they are pointing fingers at India.
When we were young we were told a story of a man who came in contact with a ghost while sleeping under a tree.
The ghost would do anything and everything as directed by the man.
The man directed the ghost to kill all his enemies one by one.
When all the enemies were finished, the ghost came to him for further orders.
Now the man had no further orders since his enemies were finished.
He told the ghost that he had no further orders, he could go away.
The ghost replied that if he had no further order he will kill him since he had to have orders.
The ghost killed the man.
See the similarity?
Pakistan and USA created the Taliban to drive out the Russians from Afghanistan.
They did so.
They wanted further orders.
Pakistan could not give the orders so they attacked the USA, The World Trade Centre.
The USA retaliated and drove them out of Afghanistan.
The Taliban entered Pakistan.
Now the Taliban has started attacking Pakistan.
It is going to finish Pakistan.
But we in India should not rejoice.
If the USA and India do not cooperate to bottle in this ghost, it will soon attack India for it requires work.
The USA, Europe and now Japan are not understanding.
They are still giving money to Pakistan which will finally be diverted to the Taliban.
India will have to so secure its borders with Pakistan so that even a dog does not pass through, then only can India be considered safe.
All buses and trains and flights to and from Pakistan should henceforth be stopped for we never know who will be from the Taliban.
