Taj open 268 rooms, renowned restaurants Sunday
The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel that reopens Sunday will offer 268 guest
rooms, including nine suites and 26 Taj Club Rooms, all in the tower wing, a
hotel spokesperson said Wednesday evening.
In addition, the hotel's renowned restaurants and eateries like
The Zodiac Grill, Souk, Masala Kraft, Acquarius, Shamiana, Starboard and La
Patisserie, located in the old heritage wing and the tower wing, will also be
re-opened.
The Rooftop Rendezvous Banquet Hall and the Chambers, which
offer a magnificent view of the Mumbai harbour and city skyline, will also start
bustling with activity from Sunday, the spokesperson said.The hotel's
fleet of vehicles will now be joined by two Jaguars to enable transfers of
guests and visitors in luxurious comfort, the spokesperson added.
Located
just opposite the Gateway of India, the hotel bore the brunt of the Nov 26
terror attacks and was the scene of a 60-hour long battle between combined
security forces and holed up terrorists.The terror attacks at 13
different locations, mostly in south Mumbai, left 179 people dead, including 26
foreign nationals and 18 security personnel, and another nearly 300 injured.
