I arrived in India in February from Canada. I had decided to put my child in an International curriculum to ensure my child does not get caught in transition problems when we return to our Country after 2 years. I was surprised with the number of International Schools in Bangalore. I visited nine schools right from Sarjapur to Yelahanka. Most parents would have gone through this. I got carried away with ‘International’ tag. After spending lot of time in travel, when I entered the gate, most of the schools did not even allow me to meet with the Principal. Do you have an appointment was the first question.

After facing this question, I had to browse websites and get numbers. Called and got appointments. Reached on time and had to wait for 2 hours 20 minutes as the Principal was busy. After talking to the Principal you are told that the school follows CBSE curriculum. Question to be asked here is: Why is your school called International?

Any way, as my hopes started to decline, I saw a hoarding on a highway in Northern Bangalore about another International School. I said to myself, another one! I was too tired at this point and just called the number. My interests and spirits were running low. Called the number and the lady said, please come anytime between 9 am to 4 pm. To meet the Principal. I went the next day around 10.30 a.m. and I was greeted by the Receptionist with a smile requesting me to wait for few minutes as Principal was meeting another parent. In the mean time I was offered juice and after exactly 7 minutes of wait, I was taken to Principal’s office.

The Principal, who was a Canadian, spent enough time to address all my queries without a rush. After I was comfortable with the curriculum, school schedule, etc., he put me to a Secretary who took me for a school tour. I was very happy to see the infrastructure and qualified and dedicated faculty offering International curriculum with International faculty.
