    • I AM SORRY RAJIV
    May 21, 1991 is the day when as a Tamil I had to put my head down in shame. Mercenaries and contract killers from an alien terrorist outfit killed the former Prime Minister of India Sri Rajiv Gandhi during his campaigan trail when it was widely believed he will stage a comeback. The wounds are still there and a regional outfit marched in to power on the sympathy wave created by the assasination of Rajiv. These thankless regional outfit of late has been espousing the cause of the killers of Rajiv for political reasons. Their leader, an earlier year Cine actor who strode to power because she was perceived to have been bequethed the legacy of another matinee idol MGR, has suddenly found common cause with tamil diaspora and Tamil chavinists all over and has vowed to let the killers of Rajiv following a diobolical plot scripted by none other than the  Chief Justice of India under a perverted logic. The killers were provided enough legal support all these years and they had applied for clemency with the Governor under article 161 of constitution which was promptly dismissed with the contempt it deserved.  Again they had applied for clemency under article 72 to the President. This was never the intent of the constitution makers because the provisions relate to clemency petitions to either of the constitutional functionaries but not to both of them. The President's office should  have dismissed their petition in the admission stage itself. Because they did not and some petty officials kept sitting over them for long years. a tamil chauvinist CJI could arrogate to himself the power to overturn a Presidential order. 

    My heart goes out to Poor Rajiv who was perhaps the most sincere, affable, gentle, clean human being. When he had threat perceptions from LTTE, Special Protection group was created. The media was running a propaganda that to protect an individual crores of public money is being wasted. VP Singh scaled down his security and disgusted with this Rajiv gave up whatever little security he was provided with and became a victim to the assasin. Today even the lap dog of Devegowda, people like Jayalalitha,Mulayam and scores of political leaders enjoy VIP security. Suddenly India could afford crores of rupees on VIP Security and the media is silent. They killed Rajiv before he was actualy killed by LTTE. 

    RAJIV any amount of apology will not be sufficient for the betrayal by this thankless nation to your memory but I am helpless to do anything more.
