CBI AS A WEAPON
For too long there have been accusations of foul play with the way Central Government especially Congress ruled ones uses Central Buareau of Investigation to settle political scores. Mayawati and Mulayam are the two people who have been constantly complaining about this abuse of power by the Government. This time also it is no different with CBI being used at the behest of the highest court of the land- to silence and intimidate Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the regional outfit from Tamil nadu in the so calledSpectrum scam. A DMK minister is made to resign . his offices and residences including that of his relatives and associates are raided, claims of incriminating documents having been recovered are made, then he is arrested, interrogated in CBI custody, remanded for 14 days and then again sent to Tihar Jail under judicial remand for further interrogation since the agency felt that he is not revealing enough.May be narco analysis could also be the next plan to elicit information that the CBI is looking for. This morning, CBI slueths have raided the DMK's offical party TV Channel for records to implicate them in the money trail claimed to have been unearthed during the interogation of Realty promoter Balwa and further examinations of Anil Ambani and Prashant Ruia. The DMK and its leader Karunanidhi have been undergoing tortuous moments at these acts of the Government forcing them in to submission for larger share of seats and a share in power should they get re-elected. Note this no such haste is there in charge sheeting the CWG and Adarsh Scamsters who belong to Congress party. Sonia Gandhi is a clever politician, First she sewed an alliance with DMK normally a personal non grata for the Gandhi family to wage a war on LTTE clandestinely andshe succeeded in eliminating Prabhakaran with out much ado. She was always keeping a low profile in the alliance which in fact made DMK and its leaders arrogant as to flaunt in private that Congress can not do without them.She quitely has turned the tables on DMK with their leadership running for cover on allegations of kickbacks which every national channel broadcasts on a day to day basis with such a frenzy that it refuses to die down. Detractors of DMK are waiting for the alliance to break down. MK should keep his cool and may be after the dust settles down he can turn the tables again.but beyond witch hunting, I do not see any merit in the actions of CBI. PM himself has equated the presumptive loss to subsidies. Can any one sue the Prime Minister?
