    NDTV  has chosen celebrated RTI activist Arvind Kerjiwal as the Indian of the year 2011. As member of TEAM ANNA, he has focused all attention to the need to have an effective anti corruption legislation called LOK PAL. It is believed that it is he who formulates strategies for the Anna Hazare led andolan and his master stroke was in Hissar where his team of people campaigned against Congress party which had lost the election even before the ballot boxes were open. The propaganda was not to vote for congress foegetting that a more corrupt chautala could have actually won the election. Kejriwal then went to Lucknow where a lunatic threw sandals . This is not new. P Chidambaram had faced such an ire before but this time media cried foul.

    Right to Information Act itself is a brain child of Sonia Gandhi the UPA chairperson which has made governance a lot more transparent. In media interviews Arvind and Kiran Bedi throw tantrums at Sonia for being silent on the issue of corruption. Kiran it is now emerged has claimed full airfare for her attendance while she was paying only half of the fare as being eligible for concessional ticketing. This Arvind says does not amount to corruption. The vocabulary of both these Anna andolan members are below any dignified code of conduct. You can be critical of corruption and you should mind your language. NGOs are not in scanner in the proposed Jan Lokpal and both these members run NGOS accepting donations from across the globe including failed Wall Street scamsters. What accountability is this?

    Anna Hazare claims that he will never ever ask his village pradhan to meet Rahul even if invited for he felt insulted when they were denied audience by Rahul. So mean of him. This especially after the man who claimed to have arranged this meeting apologised for his goof up. Anna says that Kashmir is an integral part of India while Prashant says we should hold plebisite. Arvind and Bedi concur with Prashant and says that his remarks do not disqualify him from being a member of the Anti corruption squad. In TV interviews many self styled watch dogs from the Andolan pour venom on our political class. Let them do a performance audit of their own as to what they had contributed to our society before enrolling themselves in Anna Andolan. Pontificating is easy as Oscar Wilde said, Those who are incapable of learning have taken in to teaching.

    Well, I am not sure if Arvind Kejriwal is really the Indian of the year. Not even Anna Hazare because in everything which he did there was a bit of arrogance. NDTV was merely playing to the gallery when it announced the awards. That shows the growing clout of middle class nay the neo rich who have arrogated to themselves the power to decide the way governments should be run in this country.
