But, Modi failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people who voted for him.  He forgot to promised made to the people who had voted him to power and went on to appease the business community who had funded his elections.  . You cannot promise to address the problems of the people before elections and change track and start appeasing the business class when you are elected. It is the people who vote for you not businessmen.

If he had fulfilled even fifty per cent of what he had promised to the people, he need not have campaigned at a single election rally. All he needed to show the people was:  “Acche din aa gaye hein.”  But, the report card of the BJP government has been far from satisfactory on this score.  Riding on the crest of his landslide victory in the Lok Sabha polls, he took the people of Delhi for granted and paid the price for this blunder.

Some people feel that good days will come after five years when the BJP government completes its present term.  This is a wake-up call for Narendra Modi and his supporters.  It all depends upon what they do to salvage this situation.
