Financially and Sexually Liberated Women
Amit and Smita have been living together ever since their College days when they fell in Love at first sight. All was well until, Amit started feeling the heat of recession and had to move out to a different job for a lower package. He started finding it difficult to manage his expensive elephant at home – Smita. She was not ready to cooperate with him, because she was earning more than him and it finally lead to some turbulence.
It was to his shock that Smita walked in home with her new boy friend Abhinav. This day Amit was thrown out from the Bedroom to the living room. Indeed Amit had to spend the rest of his nights at that home with Golu who was a faithful friend – The Labrador.
Amit slowly conceded his defeat in Love and had shifted from Bangalore to Delhi. She had been cruel and also she made it very clear to him that “Paisa Boltha Hai”. The real Bharatia Nari cannot imagine sleeping with a different man. But as an author I believe my mental growth has been limited and still remains in the 1940’s where I expect women to be women and not to take up a man’s Job.
There is a saying in English; Behind the success of every man there is a woman. That’s simply because woman like Smita never follows a man who does not earn enough. These women do not support a man’s growth.
India has been a land of Sati Savitiri and Seetha. But I believe, in Kalyug expecting a sati Savitiri out of your girl friend or your wife would be a little too much.
Indians have been hypocrites for a long time until this generation seems to break all the rules and bound to follow the western culture.
The pornography available on Indians has gone up by a large number. They are free to have sex with any one they want, Wife swaps have been common in metros or is it just the media hype with certain movies like Life in a metro, mixed doubles portraying the new Indian culture.
Very recently if you look at the women who prefer to stay spinsters through out there life instead of getting into a relationship have gone up by a large number, especially in the metros. One of the reasons for this may be, that these women may keep on searching for their Mr. Perfect for a long time till they realize that they have grown old enough to be a mother of two. By then no man would be interested in marrying an aunty and they are forced to remain a spinster for life.
“Its true that man do not want to marry an older woman”.
The recent trend has been adopting a pet, be it a dog or a cat. They have ultimately found some happiness in taking care of their pet. One of the reasons for heavy petting is the unconditional Love, which is showered upon by the pet rather than a demanding husband. Isn’t life easier and simpler now?
The reasons for all these have been the Financially and sexually liberated women. Over a period of time we have grown greedy. The real life story of Amit and Smita speaks for itself. This doesn’t stop with just one, the coming generation is to face a lot of problems in relationship and the time may speak for itself unless and until the so called X Category of men and women mentioned above changes themselves for a better and happy living.
