Mahatma Gandhi National Awards at 9th Global Festival of Journalism

New Delhi: Gandhism is a body of ideas that describes the inspiration, vision, and the life work of Mohandas Gandhi i. It is particularly associated with his contributions to the idea of nonviolent resistance. The two pillars of Gandhism are truth and nonviolence.

On the basis of this ideology Marwah Studios in association with International Journalism Centre constituted an National Award after the name of Mahatma Gandhi to be presented to those who have extended this thinking through journalism or. otherwise in India and abroad said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of the festival.

Four names were selected this time for the most prestigious and popular 4th edition of Mahatma Gandhi National Award for Journalism. The awards were presented to most experienced Lord Remy Ranger Member of the House of Lords British Parliament U.K., the veteran journalist of the country including Salma Sultan one time most popular news reader on Doordarshan, Vinod Agnihotri now the group advisor to Amar Ujala and Pradeep Sardana a veteran journalist now freelancer who has worked for 40 years in art and culture.

“Mahatma Gandhi is revered the world over as one of history’s most transformative and inspirational figure. Throughout his life in South Africa and India, Gandhi was a fearless campaigner for the rights and dignity of all people, whose constant and unwavering promotion of non-violence as a tool to win over hearts and minds has forever left its mark on the world,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah also President of Marwah Studios.

All the veterans and awardees Salma Sultan, Lord Remy Ranger, Pradeep Sardana and Vinod Agnihotri narrated the silent features of their life time story, their struggle, professional life and motivated the large international audience listening to them very carefully.

H.E. Yogendra Narayan Chancellor of Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garwal University, Abdul Mohd. Dewale President Africa Asia Scholars Global Network,  Dr. A. K.Rastogi Editor in Chief of Avishkar Media, Bharti Dubey of Times of India, Renzu Shah Author and Journalist from Kashmir, Sushant Pathak from Australia and  Gaurav Gupta Charter President of Lions Club were also present there.

Radio Noida head Sushil Bharti proposed vote of thanks. The event was supported by ICMEI-International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry, IFTRC-International Film And TV Research Centre, WPDRF-World Peace Development And Research Foundation, AAFT University of Media And Arts, IFTC- International Film And Television Club and IPBF- International Public Broadcasting Forum.
