Circa 2008 AD

My  10  year son   happily  announced ( sic )   dad  you  can  now  travel  by  air  to  nanoos  house  !. You've  become   a  senior  citizen, don’t   they  offer  heavy  discounts  to senior  citizens !.( Advertisers  rejoice ,kiddies read serious  stuff  too )   

I  meet  lots  of  people  during  the  course  of  the  day, lots  of  conversations  take  place- serious, mundane, lively, important ,jovial, trivial etc .People  never  fail  to  comment  on  any  noticeable    change  in  my anatomy.

However  I  discovered  that  people  never  ever  mention  about  my  newly  acquired  strands of  Grey  mane.

And   I noticed    that  guys   senior  &   my  peers   alike   have  jet  black  hair -  course   no  prizes  for  guessing  why !. 

 In  retrospect  I  realized  that  almost  every  guy  in  his  thirties &  above    has  been  a  loyal  follower  of  hair  dyes -  yes  the  modern  day  elixir  of   virility .  I  was  not  aware  of  this  gospel  truth   until   I  entered  the periphery  of  this   league.

No  wonder   hair dyes  companies  have  proliferated  &    are  laughing  all  their  way  to  the  banks. YES ,

the  guys   senior  &   my  peers   alike   have  jet  black  hair -  course   no  prizes  for  guessing  why !. 

People  really  hate  to  discuss  things  done  by  them  under  the  veil.

Back  home  the  hot  topic  of  discussion  across   the  dinning  table  is  WHETHER  OR  NOT  should  I  dye  the  hair. My  Charming   Wife  of  fifteen  years    tells  me  in  private,  be  rich  like  that  beer/airlines  baron (  you surely   know  who) &  no  one  will  notice  the  Grey  mane  . I  surely  seemed  to  be  convinced  by  that  statement , that  ordinary  looking  baron   escorted  by   voluptuous ladies (   always )     has  his  pictures   splashed   in  all  society  magazines  &  Page  3  obediently  ( pun  intended )

The  million  dollar  question  is  until  then  what?. My adolescent  daughter   insists  that  I  should  dye  ASAP. She  tells  me  don't   blame  us  that    we  didn't  warn  you  if  people  look  at  mom &  me  and   then  comment  " look  that   old  man  has  such  lovely  daughters" !

Right  now  am  in  a  dilemma  ,  its  hair  dyes  vis a vis  henna ,  Since  I  am  given  to  understand  that  hair  dyes  are  carcinogenic   &  hennaing  would  make  me  appear  like  a  quintessential   moslem  guy

So  right  now  its  status  quo  at  the    risk  of  being  called  a  father  of  two  pretty  girls  &  a  grandfather  to  a  naughty  little  boy. Amen
