Important Update of iWork for iPad and iPhone, iPod
If you still have questions about it now, let me give you just a brief introduction. iWork includes Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, and Apple developed iPad versions when the device was originally launched in April 2010. At first, its formatting limitations, awkward file access, and inability to print were likely to be serious problems for most users. While the iWork apps did have some bugs, Apple has worked on fixing them with new software updates. iWork now available for iPhone, iPod touch. So you can use the iOS-flavored iWork to create and edit word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation files on Apple's pocket-sized mobile devices. I imagine it could come in handy in emergency situations.
The iWork update brings about a whole host of welcome improvements. Apple updated the iWork suite to include support for exporting Numbers and Keynote documents into Excel and PowerPoint. The iWork suite is now much more useful for Office users. By the way, I think you can transfer files from pc to ipad then try the new iWork. Maybe it is interesting to contrast iWork and Office. OK, included in the update is:
Keynote
- Export presentations to Microsoft PowerPoint (.PPT) format.
- Copy presentations between Keynote and your MobileMe iDisk or a WebDAV service.
- Support for audio in builds when importing Keynote ’09 presentations.
- Ability to group and ungroup objects.
- Add animated builds to grouped objects.
- Lens Flare, Spin and Wipe build animations.
- Revolving Door, Swoosh and Wipe slide transition animations.
Numbers
- Export spreadsheets to Microsoft Excel (.XLS) format.
- Copy spreadsheets between Numbers and your MobileMe iDisk or a WebDAV service.
- Ability to group and ungroup objects.
- Open CSV files from Mail and other apps.
Pages
- Copy documents between Pages and your MobileMe iDisk or a WebDAV service.
- Option to display the word count for your document.
- Support for opening .txt files from Mail.
- Ability to group and ungroup objects.
- Import and export existing footnotes, endnotes, sections and tables of contents.
- Import and export Pages ’09 tables with image background fills in cells.
In fact, I like the iWork suite, but the lack of ability to export Numbers and Keynote into Excel and PowerPoint kept me from using it as my primary Office suite. As you can see there are a large number of new features, updates, and fixes in each of the applications and I just finished updating my iPad apps to try out more this week. I believe you really can get work done on the go with an iPad, of course, with the help of these updated apps and a Bluetooth keyboard. Well, if you get a new iPad this Christmas, the method transfer ipad to ipad 2 is especially for you.
Overall, it appears that the entire suite of apps should work better now. I also expect more updates, and you can update your iWork apps now for bug fixes and additional functions now.
