Rohit Pandit's Story

Job Profile:
I head the entire group and look into each and every function of the group at a micro and macro level
The Decisions That Matter
I always stayed in the career I loved: Real estate, though the real estate industry was going through a bad phase I always stuck to doing what I loved the most, building homes, landmarks!
Career Profile:
Being the owner of the group, I feel I am responsible for my entire team, their career growth and fulfilling their ambitions
Degrees That Matter:
A Civil Engineering Degree followed by an MBA certification is ideal
Working Life Management:
I have a strict rule, office work is left back after office is over. Saturdays and Sundays and holidays only for family
Done Differently:
I would never make hasty decisions that I made when I was new in business. Now I am more balanced and think deeply, previously I was aggressive and often took un calculated risk
Plans For The Future:
We are looking at venturing into real estate markets of the USA and Canada in the near future
Prized Accomplishment(s):
Today my group is a leading real estate brand of Africa, a brand associated with quality work, integrity and honesty.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
Initially the real estate business was not corporate, nobody was professional. The developers never gave importance to classy building designs and quality, we have been instrumental in bringing about a lot of change in the industry. Very few groups from India have gone global in real estate
Other Thoughts:
Always follow your dreams and work towards realizing them, I started with zero investment and looking back I feel have not done bad at all
Required Reading:
I believe people should study failure stories rather than aping success stories. Autobiographies of Dhirubhai Ambani, Ratan Tata, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are worth reading
Advice For New Professionals:
Always develop a lot of patience, stick to your principals and work hard. Dont run behind success or money, work so hard that success and money comes to you automatically
Role Model:
Dhirubhai Ambani has inspired me by his business philosophy, the way he did business keeping growth of the common man in mind was marvellous
