put down the corrupt with heavy hand
The Transparency International
in its annual corruption perceptions has ranked India at the 84th
position in the list of 180 countries in terms of public-sector corruption. It
is a shame and disgrace for not only this hapless and helpless nation but also
for those who have been entrusted with the job to stem corruption in government
organizations. I am, as a citizen, using the word ‘stem’ because now I feel the
eradication of it is impossible.
The persons
appointed for the jobs to deal with corruption cases do not inspire public
confidence. After the retirement of Mr. Vittal as CVC this institution has also
gradually passed into selective inertia. The present scenario is dismal.
How come that we
find IAS,IPS etc in the list of tainted officers but not a single IA&AS
officer so far? The only reason is that they resort to audit-blackmailing, the
like they wanted to arm-twist the Central Information commission but it
rebuffed their mischievous exercise.
