4-Year Degree course in Marine Engineering
The curriculum of a 4-year Degree course in Marine Engineering makes sure that the candidate gets enough exposure to Electronic, Computer and Information Technologies. It has extensively covered theoretical classes, practical engineering, education at the in-campus workshop, out-of-campus Shipyard and Shipboard training etc.
Eligibility criteria: Candidates should be unmarried (male/female) Indian citizens. Limited foreign nationals may be admitted with approval of Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India.
Age: The candidate should be 20 years old on the 1st of the October in the year of the admission. For SC/ST, the age of the candidate is relaxable by 5 years.
Academic qualification: As per requirement of IIT-JEE (Indian Institute of Technology – Joint Entrance Examination). For more information on IIT Joint Entrance Examination, you may visit any of the Indian Institute of Technology websites like Kharagpur, Kanpur, Mumbai or Delhi.
Seat Reservation: For SC candidates - 15 per cent; for ST - 7.5 per cent and for OBC - 27 per cent, this is subject to availability. Certification is necessary.
Mode of selection:
• Qualify in IIT-JEE Examination
• Application to Indian Institute of Maritime Studies (IIMS), Mumbai
• Counselling of the selected candidates (Tentatively Last week of July/First week of August)
