Organizational Commitment

Commitment is a word that signifies the connection between two or more parties such that one party cannot abandon the other prior to completing the task promised. There are several factors that can keep an employee connected with a particular organization. Organizational commitment is an important aspect of Human Resource that deals with the psychological attachment of an employee.

If you are working for an organization for an elaborate period, you see yourself as part of the family. You are exultant when the organization reaches great heights and at the same time pensive when you see the organization facing atrocities. You feel responsible for the company’s well-being ad hence devote your time for its upbringing. This kind of attachment develops when the employee receives appreciation or feels worth wile.

Another reason for an employee to feel connected is the financial security that the organization provides. When the organization gives them the best possible funds such that one can live a comfortable life then why would someone opt to quit. The ability to furnish one’s family with all the necessary amenities gives every employee a motivation to keep working. This kind of commitment exists even if the employee is not satisfied with his/her job.

A focused employee, who is aware of his goals and feels that it is his duty to achieve those stays with the organization for prolonged time. There are individuals who believe in working with cent percent dedication and keep every word. Such individuals follow the ethics in business and thus do not ditch their existing employer.

When you grab your dream job and do the kind of work that you always wanted to, then the level of commitment enhances. Job satisfaction is a requisite to continue with a job for years together. The blithe of pursuing a task you always visualized yourself in gives you immense satisfaction and you are willing to give it your all even if the salary is not according to your expectations.

A feeling of loyalty or indebtedness if prevails then commitment follows suit. When the company provides you with all the amenities and fulfills all your needs then you feel constrained to give back to the company.

It is said that “commitment unlocks the doors of imagination, allows vision and gives us the right stuff to turnover dreams into reality”.
