This is Horrible and nobody can justify the alleged brutal activities under any circumstances. Most of us hesitate to show this kind of cruelty, even to a stray dog. Can you imagine the fate of that girl, if volunteers of APSA were not able to report this issue to Police?

1. Any person who wishes to employ a domestic servant should register their employee details with the DSMS authority with the agreed salary particulars and employment terms. In addition to this, there should be a provision for people those who wish to work as domestic servants or babysitting, to register their names and salary expectations with DSMS. So end of the day, DSMS can act as a value adding facilitator. If we can use web based applications and latest communication technology, things would be easy for all the stakeholders.
   
   
2. A helpline (like Childline) can be of great help. If we provide a one point contact, employees can report issues at the earliest. Other wise, imagine how difficult it would be for a domestic servant from Kerala or North East working in an Apartment in Bangalore or Chennai, to report an atrocity. The concerned authority should be able to ensure that they are working under their will and not because of any ‘bond’ or forced by somebody and employer is not denying facility for continuing education and no human rights violation are happening.
   
3. Allowing foreign universities to India can definitely improve the competitiveness of educational institutes in India but at the same time, we should give equal importance to ensure basic education and continuing education to all. Nobody should be denied education just because of poverty.
   
4. no-frills accountAll payments to domestic servants should be through bank account and salary details should be available for the DSMS authority for verification, any time.
