editricon Need of the hour: Entrepreneurship

Asst Professor
Since last decade getting an MBA degree and then find a lucrative job has been the dominant trend. I really wonder even not 1% of the MBAs go for entrepreneurship. What can be the reasons? Are we generating slaves rather than highly capable educated youngsters? Why our youngsters are not having a risk appetite? Why do they are ready to be slaves? Why do they prefer a comfortable life rather than making real changes in the society? Why do they never think of being a job provider rather than being a job seeker?

Why do our business schools are not able to inculcate the entrepreneurship skills in our young generations even after two years rigors program with a very high fees? Where are the business schools lacking? Do they need to reframe their teaching modules and training of two year MBA program? Do the 1st class building by students fees will suffice for their long term development?

Jagriti Yatra an initiative of Jagriti Sewa Sansthan, a non-governmental organization that promotes entrepreneurship is really a need of the hour initiative. Why do not our business schools can learn from this non profit organization,as the education institutes are also supposed to be non profit organization. But I think in the race of commercialization and greed our education institutes have forgotten their main goal.
