ACTION PLAN FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE IN CBSE

All the teachers are suggested the following points to achieve 100% quality result at least with the minimum PI fixed as KVS benchmark.

Remediation to supportive learners

Identification of supportive learners. Diagnosis of weak and strong areas of supportive learners individually subject wise and class wise on the basis of First Term Test, First Pre-Board Exam and Class Test; chalking out remedial programme; Providing intensive practice on clarifying the concepts. At least 100 conceptual based questions in each subject are identified.

2.

Revision Programmes

Planned Revision Programme: More emphasis on difficult chapters while doing revision work. Regular written tests topic wise / sub topic wise and maintaining records thereof, timely evaluation, answering errors by the students to be cleared and rectified, teachers to prepare modules and question banks for giving the students intensive practice of the same; providing sufficient information to the students about pattern of question paper and the art of attempting questions.

Writing practice

Strengthening of communication skills: Rigorous practice to be given in reading and writing skills and comprehension. Students to be encouraged for learning by writing on daily basis, more stress on memorization with understanding and effective self-study. At least two paragraphs for comprehension to be done every day.

4.

Study maternal

Providing all required study material viz. Sample Test Papers, Reference Books, educational modules, educational CDs etc. For Science in X Class at least 100 questions of MCQ for Physics, Chemistry and Bio. to be given to the students for practice.

5.

Questioning during class room transactions

Interactive teaching-learning process and encouraging the students for questioning for application based questions as well as HOTS Questions.

6.

Adoption of studies

Adopting of supportive learners by the teachers and regular review of the progress made; their grouping with bright students under close monitoring of the subject teachers.

7.

Enrichment programme

Enrichment programme for bright students for quality results; giving special assignments & providing extra study material. Preparing at least 100 questions in each subject for the practice by the students.

8.

Teaching Time Management.

Giving training to the students about the question pattern, marking scheme, weightage of marks, word limits, answering methods, and time management in the respective subjects.

9.

Counseling

Proper counseling of the students to instill confidence in the students and do away with the examination phobia, giving them all emotional support.

10.

Exchange of Resources

In few subjects where additional inputs are required, teachers from the neighboring KVs may be contacted for expert guidance, training and teaching of a particular subject area on the request of the students/teachers.

11.

Parents’ Role.

Intimation of the performance of the supportive learners to their parents and seeking their cooperation.

The teachers of other educational institutes can also use these techniques and methods to help their students achieve good results.
