Sales Promotion
Sales Promotion or term it as Sales and Promotion; together
makes ONE. ‘Sales’ as a word in itself is self-explanatory and this along with ‘Promotion’
is how one promotes the product to sell. Promotion in itself is not expenditure; it
is an investment; which can pay rich dividends.
Objectives of Sales Promotion: There are different
objectives Sales Promotion deals into. Some of them are: Increase the market
share of the product, simultaneously how mone can create the brand image. With
any kind of promotion; it is easy to establish and maintain communication with
large market segment. As the product with be popular the demand will increase.
To fulfill the objectives of Sales Promotion; there are some
devices and tools for the promotion of the product.
Some of the devices/ tools at Consumer level are:

Samples-
which are given which may be pre-launch activity or launching activity.
b)
Coupons-
these can be easily redeemable by the Company.
c)
Price-Off-
A small part of amount is discounted from the total amount of any product.
Some of the devices/ tools are at Dealer level; these are:
a)
Sales
Contest- The dealers are given an option to compete to complete their sales
target with the other dealers.
b)
Dealers
Gift- dealers are also given some kind of small gifts to keep their interest
live in selling of the product.
c)
Quantity
Discount- If a dealer keeps the Company product in bulk quantity; that time
also they get good discount from the Company; this system also interests the
dealer to order for their products in bulk.
Devices/ tools at Sales Force level; these are:
a)
Bonus-
Amount of bonus is the most attracting clause for any salesman to perform well
and sell the product.
b)
Profit
Sharing- Nowadays Companies have started giving share of profit to the
performers.
Apart from all the above mentioned points; there are many
more points those can be easily added in the list.
