AICTE Takes Step against Regulations for Part Time Management Courses

A.I.C.T.E is in news again with a new norm which is proposing a ban on all part-time MBA courses and Evening MBA courses. This comes as a shock to all the B Schools who are still not out of the turmoil that was released on December 28, 2010, which stated that B Schools should operate as per the state government process. The Notification had also mentioned that the fee structure of all B-schools would be decided by the state government.

Reason behind A.I.C.T.E. Ban:

All India Council of Technical Education is considering a ban on part time MBA courses as most of the institutes are running other programs in the name of Part Time MBA. AICTE justifies its decision by stating that it is a necessary act to put a cap on such institutions as they are not following the norms specified when the permission was granted and the quality of the courses is the last thing that the B Schools are concerned about.
