Q1. Please tell us in brief about the institute – its history, affiliations, philosophy etc?


Kohinoor Business School & Center for Management Research (KBSCMR), Khandala offers AICTE approved two year Fully Residential program in Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) at its global campus located amidst the picturesque hills of Sahaydries in Khandala. Kohinoor Business School commenced its endeavor in the year 2003 as a fully residential business school in collaboration with Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, Canada for an undergraduate program in International Business.
KBS provides vibrant intellectual exchange and equips student with the technical knowledge and management expertise to work in any role across the world. Q2. What are the various courses being offered to the students?


KBS, Khandala offers two years Fully Residential PGDM program (Approved by AICTE) and MBA (Affiliated to Pune University).


Q3. Please tell us something about your faculty profile and the student faculty ratio.


KBS, Khandala faculty consists of professors who care about their students’ success. All our professors are innovative and leaders in their respective fields and their experiences bring real-world application in their classroom. Our faculty possesses a wealth of industrial experience and maintains close ties to the business community, reflecting the practical focus of our program. KBS, khandala faculty are extremely approachable and available for any help both in and outside the classrooms. The student faculty ratio is 15:1. We also invite faculties from top notch b-schools and corporate to take lectures and conduct workshops.


Q4. What exam scores do you accept? If it’s not confidential please share the last year’s cut off for all the exams.

 
We accept test scores of any of the national level entrance test: CAT/XAT/MAT/Mh-CET. We take into consideration the overall performance of the candidate like their past academic record, Test Scores and their performance in GD/PI.


Q5. Is there any preference for a student with some pre MBA work experience? Also please share the ratio of engineers Vs the non engineers in the batch.


We do value work experience, however there is no preference for people with work experience. We have a fair mix of engineering and non engineering students. We have students from diverse educational background like Science, Management etc which not only make the campus vibrant but also provide students with personal and professional network from across the country.


Q 6. Please share something about the placement record of the college. What are the primary sectors that the students were placed in?


We have achieved 100% placements since the inception of the college. Our students have been successfully placed in almost all sectors. For the current batch i.e. (2009-11) we have already achieved 70% placements, with 3 more months left.


Q 7. Any other certifications/skill sets that a student gets while he is pursuing his course at your college?


Apart from the regular program the students are given industry-relevant training. We Provide NCCMP certification which is jointly sponsored by NSE & KBSCMR with practical training. We have extensive language lab training which emphasizes greatly on soft skills

Q 8. How does a student benefit from the international affiliations that your college has.


We have tie-ups with Sprott Business School, Carleton University – Canada, Algonquin College, Ottawa – Canada and Sobey School of Business, Saint Mary’s University – Canada. These international tie ups help us in including more relevant case-studies and research materials in our curriculum making our programme match with the International standards.

Q 10. What kind of scholarships is available from the institute’s side? Are there any tie ups with banks for financial assistance?


The scholarship is available in the 2nd year based on the performance of the student in the 1st year. A generous cash prize is given to the best student. As our b-school is AICTE approved, students can approach any bank for educational loans.

Q11. Does the curriculum have any study tours or student exchange programs integrated? If yes please explain in detail.


We conduct Industrial visits, engage students in Community Development Programme and NGO driven Developmental initiatives. We are exploring possibilities to provide our students relevant student exchange programme with our strategic partners.


Q12. How long is the summer internship for the first year PGDM students? What kind of support does the institute offer for the same to the students?


The summer internship for 1st year PGDM students is usually for a period of 90-100 days which begins from the middle of April and goes till the end of June. Our dedicated placement cell assists all the students in seeking summer internships.
