Full time MBA program of NMIMS gets highest grading by CRISIL

On December 1, 2010, the 'CRISIL Business School Grading' assigned the highest grading to the full time MBA program of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai.

On December 1, 2010, the ‘CRISIL Business School Grading’ assigned the highest grading of A*** to the full time MBA program of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai. The grading is expressed on an eight point scale, at the national and state levels, with A*** being the highest.

Sharing his thoughts, Dr Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS University told Siliconindia.com, “We are indeed delighted to receive this recognition by CRISIL. It reconfirms that the steps we have taken in the last 3 years at NMIMS are in the right direction.”

When asked how CRISIL Grading system was different and much more relevant than the other B-school rankings and accreditation, Dr Saxena said, “CRISIL is a well-known research company and follows a robust methodology. They focus on the processes and the systems adopted in an institution. It’s the strength of the processes that produce output. Further, this grading will be more acceptable to the corporate that recognize the CRISIL brand.”

The CRISIL Business School Grading is the latest addition to NMIMS’s bouquet of top recognitions. NMIMS was one of the first business schools in the country to be accredited and awarded a “FIVE STAR” rating by the UGC sponsored National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Recently, CRISIL has developed a framework to assess and grade programmes offered by B-schools. The key parameters that CRISIL considers for grading B-schools are Governance and Vision, Student Selection, Infrastructure, Faculty, Curriculum, Research, Student Outcomes and Industry Interface. The CRISIL grading is valid for a year and reflects the relative ability of the graded business school to impart quality MBA education and achieve the desired student outcomes.

CRISIL has graded many B-schools in last few months, and is expected to announce more details in weeks to come.
