IIM B kicks off MBA session 2010-12 with 375 students
IIM Bangalore kicked off their new session for the academic year 2010-2012. The event was commenced on Monday, June 2, 2010 in the campus. The event was a week long program which also included an outbound activity.

IIM Bangalore welcomed a well deserved batch of 375 MBA students with enthusiasm and hope for the upcoming MBA session 2010-12 for its numerous programs.
The introductory address was made by Dr. Pankaj Chandra, Director IIM Bangalore. He gave a warm welcome to all the students and congratulated them for making it to one of the primary B-school in India.
He introduced the MBA students of MBA session 2010-12 to all the facets of IIM Bangalore and talked about a lot of aspects that will inculcate the managerial and entrepreneurship skills in the MBA students.
Emphasizing on the importance of Management education, Dr. Chandra said, 'Management education is about learning how to build and mould innovative organizations. In order to do that, one should learn what the functions of an organization are; what are the ways in which people become part of the organization and how do they work. Management education is about understanding how organizations contribute towards their objectives. Management education is about learning the tools of analysis, about building managerial perspectives and Management education is also about understanding how the economy works within a society'.
Management education is not only about industry and corporate. The concepts of management are equally applicable to any kind of organization whether it is a hospital, NGO, museum or a public administration office etc.
Talking on the morality grounds, he mentioned that all the MBA students should comprehend the value of social responsibility towards the society and the nation. The MBA Students should come up with all possible efforts in fulfilling the expectations which the nation has from them.Earlier speaking to MBAUniverse.com Dr. Chandra, emphasized on the need of a student who has a passion to connect the learning from Management education into a benefit for the society, in addition to benefit for himself/ herself and the corporate sector.
This should be notified here that recently IIM Bangalore has also inaugurated the PGSEM batch of 2010, the 13th batch of the prestigious executive general Management education program offered exclusively to professionals in the IT sector in India. Harsh Manglik, Chairman of NASSCOM Executive Committee, was the chief guest for the event and delivered the keynote address.
