JBIMS bags top honor in Reckitt Benckiser's competition
Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Mumbai has won the Special Case Study Competition organized by ‘Vanish’, from the house of Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University (FMS).
Harshil Ved and Vikram Lambhate from JBIMS made a clean sweep at the competition winning a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. Teams from IIFT and MICA won the second and the third prizes respectively. Apart from the cash prize, all the three teams were given a formal letter to appear for the final placement interview at Reckitt Benckiser India.
Speaking on the occasion, Chander Sethi, Chairman and Managing Director, Reckitt Benckiser said, “India being a dynamic market has proved to be a talent hub for us. The education system in India is possibly the most competitive in the world – far more than any in the developed world. India proved to be a resource from where Reckitt Benckiser has added some of the best talent to its pool.” He also said, “We undertook this competition for recognizing the talent and to motivate the students on the fact that India’s top Business schools have been the focus of the company.”
Earlier in the competition, 28 top notch B-schools from across the country participated in this initiative by Reckitt Benckiser, out of which six made it to the semi finals round. There were two entries sent by each B- School after the internal evaluation at the campus level. The six final teams who presented their analysis their analysis in the Vanish Case Study competition were from JBIMS Mumbai, SCMHRD Pune, MICA Ahmedabad, IIFT Delhi, SJMSOM Mumbai and FMS Delhi.
The competition was judged by a special committee from Reckitt Benckiser India, comprising of Charlotte West, Regional Marketing Director, South Asia, Reckitt Benckiser and Pankaj Agarwal, Director-Sales, Reckitt Benckiser and Prof. Harsh Verma, Faculty at FMS, Delhi.
