The Bight is one of the more popular spots in the island. A large and well secured anchorage where you can anchor off the beach on your private charter boat and swim about its crystal clear water off to the shore, or pull up to the dock and walk onto the Norman Island beach bar or to Pirate's Bight for an unforgettable lunch of West Indian cusine.

Just south of the beach lies excellent snorkeling. The reef along the rocky outcrop is home to sea fans, sponges, brain corals, elk horn and brightly colored fish of all sizes. Pirates bight norman island's famous caves are another great snorkeling spot for the adventurous. Just a short boat ride from the Bight, the Caves offer three different snorkeling experiences. Schools of blue tangs, yellow tails, and sergeant majors will greet you upon entry and follow you from cave to cave. One of the two ships perished while Lloyd's ship made it safely to Norman Island, where he and his crew buried the treasure. After Lloyd and his men were arrested in St. Eustatius, word about the hidden treasure spread out, but only a small number of the ship's 55 treasure chests have been found. To this day, there are more than 40 treasure chests unaccounted for--and hidden somewhere on or near Pirates Norman island.
