Corporate Psychology : Need of the moment

 

Corporate is no longer remaining a new, introductory and fashionable term just for Managers or software engineers but it is more or less a common term. So it  is really important  to  have some kind  of  policies related  to  the psychology  of the employee, employer,  management and all other kind of consumers of their “products”. Having work in the corporate  sector for about four years and  having  been a student  of  Industrial psychology as  well , I thought of understanding their  basic  psychology  of  mind.

 

The word corporate has been derived from the  word corporation  which include  creditors,  shareholders and  finally  the  employee who is  the basic  contributor for  their business. Though, every corporate has its own rules and regulations but these rules must be balancing the interest of the management and the employees. Any violation of human right and the state may provide the corporate the certificate of incorporation and finally this kind of corporate may “die” due to legal issues.

 

But rarely could anybody imagine that even without this legal violation a corporate may “die”, though at much  slower pace  than it  could be apparent  to anyone by reducing  the profits  and  cutting down  their business or  deals. Such kind of losses takes place when corporates fail to provide a strategic planning for their organization. As it is clear an  organization is  always organized  by a body  of people who are the major “organizers” than the employers or managers itself.

 

If you want  to see  how  an organization  or industry works – both of which defines a corporate- you  need to  understand  its  psychology  before commenting  on anything.

 

 

Psychology of the Employers in Corporates:

 

Employers  usually include the shareholders  and the  policy makers for  a given corporate who usually  hold the  senior most  positions in that  particular corporate. These employers run their  corporate  for a certain amount of  profit in  their preferred business industry and  not only  that a  certain amount  to be  multiplying  for growth each  year. They have  a vision  for it and they calculate their kind of  expected profit by this calculative vision.

 

 

Psychology of the Employee in Corporates: 

 

Employees in the corporates are generally share the same psychology of “profit” and “vision  for  growth”. They are also interested in the profit of their employer but not for  their employers  growth  actually but  for their own expectation for  kind  of “bonuses”, salary hikes and promotions in their career.

 

As, I  was interested in defining the  psychology of  the  employers and employees I  would like  to  use the  another term which appears highly important  to me for growth  of the employer  and the employees simultaneously and that  is “Job Satisfaction”.

 

 

Job Satisfaction:

 

Job satisfaction is a term first used by career psychologists to advise to choose a group of careers according to the personal interests and  aptitudes along with taking  into  account some traits of the individual’s personality. Recently, the  term is apparently  more important for the corporate  sector as  it attracts  the  major portion  of  industrial  and  organizational psychology. In corporate you can better call it  as  “employee satisfaction”.
