Install hp printer on windows 7
Even though Windows 7 has a variety of driver programs inside, there are still a lot of problems with driver installing. In this article, we will talk about how to install hp printer on Windows 7 system.
1. Install HP LaserJet P1008 laser printer on Windows 7 32 bit
1).delete all originally installed printing device including FAX, XPS device and then restart.
2).download P1008 laser printer from the official manufacture’s site-1jP1000-HB-pnp-sc.ex;
3).referring to “What we can do if driver hp can not be installed under Windows Vista” term on the manufacture’ site. When install to the USB port, select the fake printer port, continue and copy and paste it until it’s finished.
Note
Don’t click “print paper” because in fact the printer has not been successfully installed yet.
4).Restart and enter the system and continue installing driver printer and it will be soon back to normal. Enter the printer and printing text paper.
2. Install HP LaserJet P1006 printer on win 7 64 bit
When changing Windows Vista to WIN 7 64 bit, HP LaserJet P1006 printer doesn’t work any more. If you downloaded the hp driver from hp.com and install it, when it goes to “connect the printer to the computer” step and no reaction anymore with a yellow exclamation mark in the processor and a white question mark in the printer, we can continue the following steps.
Note:
The following steps work for all P1005�P1006�P1007�P1008�P1505�P1505n printer under window 7 32 or 64 bit.
1).extract driver program to one catalogue, for example D:\1jP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en;
2).continue files in HP1006drv64.cab and HP1006.cab and place them in the same catalogue.
3).connect the printer(the printer should be found but no driver can be installed);
4).enter the device manager (start, device and printer, right click and device manager)
5).find the question-marked hp printer drivers -choose update driver program-browse the computer to find the driver program.
6).select the extracted catalogue.
7). The printer should be installed at this point.
