Past favours are forgotten

Business Anaylst

A man, once, out of pity, released a tiger from a cage-trap. But as soon as he was free, the tiger wanted to eat the man. The man said, “How can you forget the favour I have done to you? There are such things as obligations”. The tiger retorted, “Past favours are soon forgotten. Ask anybody.” They put the scenario before a passing dog, and asked his opinion. The dog said, “The tiger is right. In my youth, I served my master so well. Now I am old, he has turned me out into the jungle.” The man begged for a second opinion. So a passing horse was consulted, who replied much as the dog had done. The man begged for a third opinion. This time a fox chanced by. It seemingly couldn’t believe the story, and wanted a demonstration. The tiger, cursing the stupidity of the fox, crept back onto the cage. Upon which the fox sprang and shut the cage, and said to the man, “I saved you from a bad fate. What are you going to give me in return?”

The man thought, “Why should I be obliged to a mere fox?”

And chased him away.
