Do politicians really know the meaning of the word 'Dalit'
Today I was watching news and heard Kalyan Singh saying that he is a Dalit thats why he was kept unknown about Babri Masjid Demolition.
Let us first understand the literal meaning of the term, 'Dalit'.
The word 'Dalits' comes from the Hindi root dal and means 'held under check', 'suppressed' or 'crushed' — or, in a looser sense, 'oppressed'. The usage of the term "Dalit" seems to have originated from the Arya Samaj and their dalitoddhāra ("improvement of the downtrodden") program. The Arya Samaj began the All India Shraddhanand Dalitodwar Sabha to improve the lot of Dalits.
So, now since we understood the meaning of the term 'Dalit', which is used by the politicians always.
A person who is being made Chief Minister of the state is Dalit! A person who is the representative of the whole state is Dalit! A person who is responsible for the law and order of the state is a Dalit!
A person who has support of the mass is a Dalit!
Is this the conclusion that we have to draw from the then Chief Minister of the state, Mr. Kalyan Singh, during whose tenure the Babri Masjid was demolished. A person who earlier was very proud of what he did now says that he did not do that and its strange that being the head of the state, he was unaware of what happened. Thats really great Mr. Singh ji. You are being made head of a state and you say that you are Dalit. When were you suppressed?
People know what you did and please do not fool the people any more. Talk about development not about Mandir and Masjid. Talking about these issues themself make you a non-secular person and in turn a party.
You were never suppressed by anyone Mr.Kalyan Singh ji. Its the only fact that now its election time, which has made you to coin this favourite word of yours again and if being once the head of the state and the people's representative you are yet Dalit, then you do not know your rights and duties and you are not fit for a people's representative as if you do not know your own rights and duties then how will you fight for the people's cause? How will you make your people aware about their rights and duties?
So, if yet you say that you are a Dalit then the time has come to change the literal meaning of Dalit as the oppressed and the one who rules and thus your word makes the most proud moment for the country as the Dalits who were once suppressed now rules the country and its the greatest achievement for all of us. Your word made India Shine!
