IPL season-3
IPL season -3
Indian Premier League (IPL) the cricket fest for the Cricket lovers commenced once again. Fighting for the IPL crown of this season lasts for 45 days among the same 8 teams. I could not watch the Inaugural function of IPL-3. Set Max miserably failed to telecast it.
IPL teams represent the universal brotherhood, drawing players from all over the cricket playing countries, ofcourse Pakistan players are missing due to the internal bickering in PCCB. Players will lose their national identity here and play under the team banner. In a country where the cricket is the unofficial national game, there is no wonder IPL could draw stadium full spectators in addition to the lakhs and crores of viewers watching on TV sets. Commercially it is a big success for BCCI. As far as young/budding cricket players, it is the greatest opportunity and experience for them to play along with senior players like Sachin Tendulkar, Gil Christ, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Jacques Kalis, Sanat Jayasuriya etc.,
It is a great experience to watch Sachin Tendulkar, the cricket god of the Indian fans, competing with the young buddies, who are as age old as his International Cricketing experience. Gil Christ, the first player made thousand runs in IPL, (till date). Jacques Kalis is one of the best all rounders in the IPL, Kumble still has the ability to bag the wickets. It seems age has no barring on these players. Time and again they are proving that “Class is permanent, form is temporary”.
Thanks to IPL, we could see the young talent like Bisla, Tiwari etc. pool of promising players for the years to come. There is heavy competition for all slots in the Indian Cricket team and a good number of bowlers, batsmen, wicket keepers in store to grab the positions in the team.
I don’t have any favourite teams in the IPL, since every team has the ability, but who ever gives their best on the day will get the crown. As on date Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Dare Devils have equal opportunities of getting the crown of this season. No wonder, if some other team gets it, since uncertainty always rocks the T20 matches, anything may happen at any time. All the best to all the teams.
