The Great Mahatma
This October 2, I was touched by the the tribute Google paid to Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhi inspired many world leaders and personalities and continue to do so.
I have attempted listing some of them
1. Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan -"Frontier Gandhi" - in Afghanistan...yes the country torn with violence and terror since last 8 years
2. Martin Luthar King Jr. - Needs no introduction
3. Nelson Mandela - The South African Anti-apartheid activist and former President of South Aferica
4. Aung San Suu Kyi- The Burmese leader under perpetual house arrest
5. Philippine leader Benigno Aquino, Jr
6. Sir John Lenon
7. Barack Obama - "has said given a chance he would like to have dinner with Mahatma Gandhi"
8. Cease Chavez- Mexican leader of the Chicano Movement who's philosophy of non-violence was inspired by Gandhi.
And this is what the Christian Evangelists say:
"During the 2,000 years since the birth of Jesus, non-Christian religious leaders have appeared, and foremost among them are Mohammed, the founder of Islam, and Mahatma Gandhi, the apostle of non-violence from India."
I am sure I have missed several. Please feel free to add.
