Let us change our attitude to change our country.

Head Sales - East Asia
Today's the nation is at crossroads. We have corrupt, selfish & power hungry leaders willing to compromise on anything for their interests thereby letting down the country. They have the least time for the country's burning issues like Poverty, healthcare, corruption, backwardness, lack of infrastructure, lawlessness etc. Even after 62 years of Independence, we are a developing country. It is even more visible when we see countries like China, Singapore, Malaysia not far from India so developed than us. With the 2nd highest human population, talented people and abundant natural resourses, we are still backward !!!

Let us quickly look at ourself - the citizens of this country. We are irresponsible, dont follow laws, dont vote, are highly indiscplined and cannot think beyond ourself. The big question which comes in my mind is " Do we really love our country" ? Our patriotism comes to be fore when we are at war with Pakistan. It dies down after that. "What have we done for our Country ????? We criticize everything but do not take initiatives to change ourselves nor our country. For example, the educated and uneducated both drive the same way on the roads be it any city in India. It is always a "me first" attitude on the roads with everyone vying to overtake each other at any cost however riskier it is. We have scant respect for the traffic rules and follow rules only if a cop is around. We break rules without any reason.. We tolerate every atrocity without raising our head to protest or bring in a positive change.

Enough is enough ! It is now or never. If we educated persons cannot work towards this change, no one else can and the biggest danger is that "There is no hope if even the educated lot get bogged down with the defeatist attitude that we are helpless and get cowed down".

The key to change our country is to first changing ourselves, our attitude, our beliefs and our actions. I am not talking of drastic changes which are high on rheotoric but difficult to actually implement. If every educated citizen can follow some basic rules, we can bring in a positive change in the society. What I propose may be very basic, but the question is "Are we doing this"

1. Follow the traffic rules strictly. No honking unnecessrily.

2. Keep all public places clean - like we keep our private premisis.

3. Empathy to our fellow human beings. Let us be courteous to each other. How many of us smile and greet others ?

4. Stand against corruption & evil.

5. Take a oath everyday that you would do only good deeds and would not hurt others. If cant do good deeds, atleast refrain from hurting others. That is the least we can do.

6. Act as responsible citizens in all walks of life (In today's context, with elections around the corner - Go out and vote to choose the right leader to represent us).

7.SELF-DISCPLINE - The biggest drawback with us Indians is lack of self-discpline. This is one major handicap which is pulling us down. We need to really work on this to bring in a change.

We can add some more simple actions to change oureslves.

Today, the biggest challenge for us to first change ourselves if we have to change the country. We need to be responsible first and ask ourselves " What have we done for the nation". Today's media is full of reports where people everyday fight for rights, rights, & rights. What is the contribution of these people to the country as their duty ?

Once we are able to bring in the change in our attitude, thinking and actions, we can then think about the next bigger challenge - To change the nation.

Let us join hands to be responsible citizens first. If we can bring in a positive change in the society, we can work towards creating a new Developed India free from Poverty & Corruption.

JAI HIND.
