Further evaluation centres for quick B.Com results
While university laws make it compulsory for release of results within 45 days after the last paper, the varsity has never managed to stick to the deadline. According to the office of the controller of examinations (CoE), in 2008, the results were declared in 53 days, in 2009, it took 56 days, in 2010, the results were out in 75 days.
Vilas Shinde, the CoE of the university, said, "We had decentralized the appraisal procedure for the March-April 2011 exams and made cluster centres across the jurisdiction of the university. While we had around 16 centres for the last exam, for the March 2012 exam, we plan to make around 100 colleges as centres for evaluation. We are working on the plan." He added that allotting bunch centres would support more examiners to participate in the evaluation process.
Around 29 out of 250 commerce colleges did not contribute in the evaluation process at all last year and show-cause notices were sent to all.

However, others believe that along with increasing the number of centres, the number of examiners should also be increased. According to M D Bapat, vice-principal of Birla College, "The University needs to appoint more examiners which would be proportionate to the number of students appearing for the exam."
