Apple failed to filed for the trademark iPad mini name
According to Techcrunch, there is another reason about denying the application. Apple didn’t provide the USPTO with a specimen other than its own product website, even though Apple always uses these for its trademark applications.
The letter made public in the last few days but it was mailed to Apple on January 24. The letter wrote: "Registration is refused because the applied-for mark merely describes a feature or characteristic of applicant's goods."
After read the letter, what do you think of iPad mini? Personally, Apple should provide the USPTO with more detail data to success. So a lot of customers can use the iPad mini without any trepidation. The iPad and iPad Mini are two of Apple's bestselling products so far. In its last quarter to January, Apple said that it sold a record 22.9 million iPads and iPad Minis.
The iPad Mini has been a hot seller. Together with the iPhone 5, the Mini awarded Apple with a 20.3 percent share of all connected devices in the fourth quarter and a 30.7 percent share of all revenue for such devices, IDC said this week. The iPad Mini has even cannibalized sales from the fourth-gen iPad, say many analysts.
Web browsing, Facebook-checking, newspaper/magazine reading and, from the hundreds of apps that are installed, only around a dozen are regularly engaged. Or they can face-to-face with their family and friends with ease. In one word, Apple iPad mini is changing our daily life. Just like Apple said, it can do just about everything and be just about anything.
