We are responsible for our country

Yes,I have been glued to the TV every spare moment I get and have been watching the tragedy at Bombay unfold with
great sadness.
So much anger was expressed by the big names in society on the TV chat shows. They said our politicians were not Men but Wimps,
they praised the courage and bravery of our Army men and cursed the politicians for not giving the Police better equipment and higher salaries, all sorts of ignomy was heaped upon the head of Mister Shivraj Patil. Mr Manmohan Singh and Mr L.K. Advani were blamed for not sharing an aircraft and coming down to Bombay together as a sign of solidarity!!
I have never seen such a load of crap before! Are you telling me they did not know about these things happening in your country all these years??!!! Where were they and what have they been doing?

This so called upper class society screamed about the corruption in the country!!

Bombay has been a violent city for quite sometime now. Innocent people are now being regularly killed in terrorist attacks. What is so special about these present attacks that is causing such strong public reaction? You tell me!

Our Politicians are the very same people who the rich class have been supporting and funding during elections! So why are they complaining about them now?!
It most certainly is not the Poverty stricken people of India who promote corruption in the country! Why are the rich speaking about corruption now?
This, and many other problems have been growing in our country for quite sometime but we have been ignoring then all because it does not affect us? Something that affects India does not affect us??!! Is our upper class educated or not?

Every time there is a terrorist attack in our country, we are ALL guilty. Every time there is corruption in our country, we are ALL guilty.
Every time our Defence and Police personnel are badly treated, we are ALL guilty. There is no point in going around mouthing slogans like "my motherland, my country, mera Bharat mahan" if we are not going to accept responsibility for the state it is in.
I am not calling for forming a new political party or making a big issue out of it. I am calling for silent revolution. In our own lives let us have values. Let us teach our children to have values. Let us encourage our other family members to have values. Let us set good examples to them.
Let us not cut the yellow line while driving. Let us not overtake from the wrong side. Let us not jump the red light. Let us not honk the horn unecessarily.
Let us be punctual for all our appointments and meetings. Bribery and Corruption is woven into the fabric of our society. Every time we do it let us stop to think of the millions of our countrymen who cannot afford to do the same. Let us slowly work these evils out of our system.
The leaders, the Politicians, the big talkers cannot save our India. Our country is not going to accept another Mohandas Gandhi or Jawaharlal Nehru because we no longer have common cause to unite the country so let us not look for a leader to save this country!
But we can have a common objective. It is the people of India alone who can save her because in the final analysis, they alone are responsible for her.
Mera Bharat Mahan, Jai Hind - and other such meaningless words from our vocabulary.
Warm Wishes,
