DAY 456 Amitabh Bachchan Blog

Mahashivratri was wrong information. It was Sravaan Somvaar. My apologies for this error. A special day all the same. And thank you EF for this correction. Thank you also for voting almost 98% for me to continue with this blog. It was most reassuring.

It is late. But before I get another lecture on health and the requirement of good sleep, may I inform readers that my samdhi, from my daughter’s side sent me a memory test on the mail

Singapore July 21, 2009 Mon/Tue 2:10 PM Mahashivratri was wrong information. It was Sravaan Somvaar. My apologies for this error. A special day all the same. And thank you EF for this correction. Thank you also for voting almost 98% for me to continue with this blog. It was most reassuring. It is late. But before I get another lecture on health and the requirement of good sleep, may I inform readers that my samdhi, from my daughter’s side, sent me a memory test on the mail and I procured 98% marks. The test literature also stated that irrespective of sleep deprivation the memory of a 60 year old and that of a 20 year old remain the same even after 35 hours of no sleep !! I am not in any manner wanting to contest the argument or disprove facts stated in said document, but merely putting it up for our information and understanding. Let me try and see if the server can help me put up this test for us on the blog … The great quality of a successful tele serial is that you never want to shut it off ! And most of the reasons why late nights occur these days is because of the riveting and non shuttable “GREY’S ANATOMY !! It is remarkable how the story and the acts keep coming at you, frame after frame, episode after episode. One reason could be that we are seeing a DVD collection of all the episodes and all the seasons put together. There are therefore no advertisements to distract the attention and no breaks after every episode of waiting for the next week, for it to be broadcast. The drama just keeps unfolding, the time keeps ticking by and before you know it, its reached EF complain time. When we were shooting for ‘LAKSHYA’ in Leh-Ladakh all of us due to the height factor of the location, were rested for two days of acclimatization before we got set for makeup and shoot. We were asked to swallow some pills before flying in, drink a lot of water and generally lie in bed without exerting yourself. I had just been introduced at that time to the very successful tele serial “24 Hrs” and sitting idle in my room at Leh I started to watch it to pass the time. I actually did not stop for 24hrs untill it was over ! Fascinating ! Many a times I still feel I would want to do just that ! There are times when we tend to do that at multiplexes - see movies one to the other. Get inside a theater finish the film and walk into the next. Done that a couple of times in New York. Fun. Does terrible things to your stomach though with all that pop corn, but hey, what’s a pop corn in an evening of fun !! ”Enthusiasm is the greatest asset one can possess… for it can take you further than money power and influence.” ”Life is a tragedy when seen in a CLOSE - UP, but a comedy in a LONG - SHOT” - Charlie Chaplin ” Do not take rest after a success… otherwise people will take your previous victory as a luck in your next failure “ ”I remain just one thing and one thing only and that is a clown. It places me on a far higher plane than any politician” - Charlie Chaplin ”Wars, conflict it’s all business. One murder makes a villain… millions a hero. Numbers sanctify.” - Charlie Chaplin ”I know not with what weapons World War 3 will be fought. But World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones !” - Albert Einstein ”We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give !” - Winston Churchill ”Hope is the ability to hear the music of the future and faith is having the courage to dance to it today !” How valuable the words of such wisdom
