The number of responses jumped considerably today and I was wondering why this would have happened. Then it suddenly occurred to me that the connect to Mohanlal ji and his blog at the bottom of my post yesterday did the trick. He has been extremely generous in his words to me and most kind. Speed has been the buzz word in the passing of the day today. I have been signed on to endorse ESPN for the Champions League Cricket T20 tournament to be held in South Africa in September. And because of paucity of time we had to shoot all the promotional films and stills for print and short seconders for TV and … dub it by the evening in order that they are able to release the publicity soon.
Thank fully it has all gone off well and I have just completed the dub for what we shot in the morning. But the rush and the speed with which it all had to be done was some kind of a marvel. Jumping on to set to give a shot for film, spinning away to land up in another corner of the set to do a still with dear friend Dabboo Ratnani, his cute little daughter along with him. Slipping away from there to do TV bites for a channel for the making of the film, back for the film shot, on to Tv one liners in another corner, sitting in discussion with - you guessed it - ‘chandal chaukdi’ to get final approval and now running from the studio to the office to do spot dubbing on a laptop for all that we did the entire morning, in order to save time ..
And now in a few hours on a long flight ~ so will be cut off for a while ..
Its been a few minutes before these letters get pushed in through the key board. Not the ones above, but these that are forming right now. Someone said, or did I read it somewhere, that if you have to think when you are at your blog, as to what needs to be written, then you have in a sense diluted the meaning of the blog, or are not fit to continue, or some such thought.
Yes I did take a few minutes to start punching words again after the initial burst, but I am not accepting the fact that I am in any way diluting or unworthy of this blog. The process of thought as I do sit down in front of the MacBook Pro is most relevant. Well at least in the position I often find myself in.
Be cautious in what I express ~ there are several that sit around to decipher, read in between, conjecture, perceive meaning behind all that I do say. How it is finally dissected and presented to the general people at large is another trial of strength. If there have been incidents where I have corrected the misinformation from media, if I have written in the same language and intent as they do, then there is need to be prepared for an on slaught. A mere juxta positioning of a few words and meanings change. A well meaning observation can suddenly start looking as an accusation. And before long, the ‘accused’ has been approached by the media to give a reaction to this ‘atrocious’ behavior. And no matter how much you may clarify, it is never the same. Damage once done remains.
Do not beat your own drums without beating others drums too. In fact don’t beat your own drums at all. It spells arrogance and false pride .. ‘apne muh miya mitthu’. Better to be ignored than to seek recognition. It never works. Though I must admit and observe that there are many that succeed in this exercise, without the least amount of trouble. Thats remarkable and I admire them that do and do seek from them advice on how they do it !!
Do not commit ~ and if perchance you do, then have the courage to carry it through. I committed to reply to all responses in the DAY 400’s some time, months ago. And every attempt I have made to reply to them has failed. It has failed not because I have been unable to respond. It has failed because every response that I make on the days gone by register on the front page of the present day. This prompts the respondent to reply again and by this act the numbers at the 400’s never decreases. What was needed was that I answer all at the same time and with some rapidity. That never happened and we are now in twice the number of days, feeling as though it was just yesterday that I had made the commitment.
There are a few others, but bringing them up would not be prudent .. ha ha !!
Some things need to be kept close to my heart. They are not unpleasant, but they need to be protected within me.
I bid you then good bye and will be with you sooner than you would expect .. but yes, there will be a gap of time and destination ..
