I am as always, overwhelmed with your affection to my condition and want to first take this opportunity to thank all the extended family for enquiring after my health, giving suggestions for its cure and advising me on how I should conduct my life in order that such episodes do not recur.

My condition shall take a while I believe to stabilize and repair. Such matters often do. But work must never be affected or stopped. So even though I know the limits to which one is permitted to go, do I sincerely look the kind of person that shall deliberately wish to bring harm upon myself ??

So… having lived in the satisfaction of the previous evenings glory, I have bounced my way to the airport to travel to Delhi with the cast and crew of RANN, to disclose a first look of the film to the media. The producers and the director felt the time was right to do something like this and so off we all went. All a bit apprehensive and jittery. One always is when confronting the media.

In Delhi, due to time constraints, a quick lunch at home and then to Scindia House for the press meet. Scindia House.. that grand old edifice in Connaught place, housing corporates and business offices and the memories of days in college in Delhi University when I took the bus past all these wonderful stops of the bus route.

When you travel every day by bus on a particular number and on particular time, the stops that you encounter during the travel is always synonymous with the traveller that gets on. Ok… Secretariat.. A gets on along with B and G.. and so on. So even before the stop arrived we would know who was going to get on and who not. Those days of University were such a joy. And Scindia House was one such particular stop in Connaught Place , the central shopping and commercial venue with its shops and restaurants and life. It was here that we would get off on our return journey, visit the stores and coffee spots, spend some time just loafing around socializing with the gang, ducking known family faces in case they put in a report to the parents and generally feeling good about ourselves.

The scenario has under gone a sea change now. A lot more structures have come up. The place has become cramped with traffic and masses of people. But the air of Delhi still persists.

At the top corner of Scindia House facing the main crossing where three roads met, was the location for the Air India hoarding in those days. And it had become the centre of great attraction. And the attraction used to be the advertisement run by the airline. Bobby Couga, it was i think, if I have got my spelling right, that would design these impressive and topical words on that hoarding seen from every possible angle. They were funny yet very imaginative - the Maharaja mascot of the airline being an integral part of the campaign. It was much like the Amul Butter campaign, humorous and very immediate event topical. I wonder if that great brain is still around, I fear not, for the quality of the airlines campaign has never been to the standard that we used to witness in those days.

The press meet to disclose the first look of the film RANN was conducted here by 2 PM to a packed media presence . Speeches were made, AV of the promo was shown, questions were asked, one on ones were conducted and then a rush out to catch the flight back. A quick hello to Shweta as I drive to the airport to return and a regret in not being able to meet up with Navya and Agastya - they having trundled off to a bowling birthday party, if you please !!

I am back in Mumbai now. A modern day miracle of travel convenience. It had seemed I had just gone off to South Mumbai to visit a friend ; time taken being the same. The dia thermi has been conducted, the pain is still and the dog collar is eating into my jaw !! And yes, the pillow is indeed in place !!

So we shall take adequate measures for its correction and dive deep into the bed to dream perhaps, to imagine and to condition ourselves for another day..
