DAY 436

“Being a good person is like being a goalkeeper. No matter how many goals we may save, people only remember the ones that we missed.”

“Blowing out the other person’s candle will not make yours shine any brighter.”

” You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.”

“Happiness has a strange arithmetic. The more you divide it the more it multiplies.”

” The purpose of a relationship is not to have someone who completes you. But to have someone with whom you might share your incompleteness.”

” Remain innocent of doubt fear and worry by experiencing the perfection of every moment.”

The oppressing solitude of the room, the walls and windows not withstanding from yesterdays thought, have pushed me out into the fresh and warm air of the streets of this metropolis. I have walked about, computerized myself, been introduced to the feline grace of cats, of foxes visiting well kept gardens, of memorabilia stored, of Phantoms of the Opera on soft sensitive keys, of black cabs and lost directions, of sudden meetings with buddies from Ishaan world, of birthday wishes, of relatives connecting, of gushing fans from without the country, of diaries and sound, of connecting travel, of monitoring the ill and have resigned.

Resigned to the grunts and whacks of yellow being mercilessly stringed across square white lines. Of animal grace that wind up and swing in ballet form, that control their success through hawk eyed computers, that scream with win and scream with loss, that challenge and complain, that replenish their sweat with watered liquid, that strain and stretch and turn and accelerate, that garner applause from opposing camps, that invite the hats, that invite the glares, that paint their faces with national pride, that wiggle like eels on captured hill, that burn in sun to rhythmic head, that commentate to champions past, that pick the celeb in the crowd; the royalty in the box, that fling their belongings to the front, that politely talk of game gone by, that slip and fall and trainers call, that wait in break with feelings galore, that walk to thank the winner and more, that closing in to family box, the anguish cheer and the happy cox. Tomorrow is another day another yellow blown away !!

My love,

Amitabh Bachchan
