‘Young is King’
If anything the recent Filmfare awards proved that all award shows are a joke and that Ranbir Kapoor & Imran Khan are the future of the Hindi film industry. They entertained the audiences with their funny antics and sharp humor, and that’s exactly what they were doing ‘entertaining’ not challenging or threatening anybody. There are very few actors, who are secured about their space and talent and support and encourage fellow actors. Abhishek Bachchan is one such actor; he publicly supported, applauded and rooted for these young actors. It is exactly this trait that makes him a bigger person and a better star. One could never imagine a Shah Rukh Khan doing any such thing, if anything he would only use the public domain to declare ‘no one is bigger than me’ (which he has unabashedly for 15years now). There is nothing wrong with that, I am all for self gratifications but if you are going to display self pampering and self loving publicly do it within boundaries and reason. So if an Aamir Khan or an Akshay Kumar come out and take pot shots at Shah Rukh, don’t blame them, they are just nursing someone’s bruised ego. There is enough space and respect for everyone, I know it is impossible being a Shah Rukh Khan he is the chosen one (incredibly successful) but it takes guts to be an Abhishek Bachchan (progressive/humility).
The world is still infected with a young Obama because he has the humility to admit his screw ups; he may not be incredibly successful (yet) but is certainly progressive. The young have seen enough to understand the significance of success and the importance of progress. So we need youngsters to take us in the future (point to ponder L.K. Advani & Manmohan Singh).
