LEARN WHAT YOU NEED

We live in a society which is coming up very well. We have our own recreation club, a well-maintained gymnasium, library, badminton court and a dream like pool.

Normally in the evenings I go for cycling followed by a 10-minute- tread-mill. However before leaving the basement hall, I go through the Hindustan Times and a few good books of my liking.

Needless to write I keep on enquiring as to when the issue of books would be declared.

After a few “look into” and constant check out I cam to know from the leaders of the society about the instructions that the books would be given out sometime end of this month. Oh! I silently murmured, three weeks more----------------------------

This evening after my regular exercises I asked the gym boy to open one of the glass almirah as I wanted to read “Wings of Fire”

I noticed a few books missing, my eyes could not tell lies, yes I said to myself a few of them were not there.

“What Happened” I asked the boy? Yes he said “What can I do, they asked me to take out and the books are with them”

It took me seconds to understand truth.

Those people, who make laws, break laws

Who themselves do not know how to “Obey” what right they have for pronouncement?

This reminds me of a warm and pleasant happening--------------------

There was a little boy who was ailing and the doctor strictly said “No” to sweets as this was the only way to cure him of his disease.

The parents were unable to control him, when one of their friends advised them to take their son to a certain sage down the country side.

“Oh Holy sage” cried the parents “Please tell our son not to have sweets as then he cannot be cured of his disease” The Holy Sage listened and told the parents to come after three days along with their son.

Accordingly after three days they took their son to the Sage. Well said he “Little boy, don’t you want to be healthy, study and play like other boys”? “Yes” nodded the boy. The sage further said “From today do not have sweets, they are doing badly for your health” The boy agreed and the parents went back happy.

After a long time whilst passing through the same country side the parents met the Sage and told him -----

“Oh holy One our son is cured, but we would like to ask you a question” “Why did you take three days time to tell our son not to have sweets, you could have said this to him, the very day we took him to you” The Sage replied calmly, his clear bright face a had a piece of revelation------

He added “I told you to come three days later as I myself was very fond of sweets and how could I tell the little one not to have? so I stopped sweets for three days, I first had control on myself and then I preached”
