The Prime Minister is remote-controlled.
On the other hand, Hazare’s team members of the civil society have already planned to demand for a kind of severe punishment to corrupt officials. These demands are to be discussed when the Joint Committee meets up to draft the Lokpal Bill. As planned by the team members the punishment for the corrupt officials should be ranged from one year to life imprisonment. A proposal of the civil society members led by Anna Hazare reads, “Punishment shall be higher if the status or the rank of the accused is higher.” All of these issues were discussed by the Joint Drafting Committee on Lokpal Bill last week in a meeting along with Pranab Mukherjee.
The civil society team members also proposed that the conduct of MPs inside Parliament, if it is an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act should be included within the purview of the Lokpal Bill. This proposal was also discussed during the last meeting of the Joint Drafting Committee.
