Without umbrella and a big one , one cannot go out of home or hotel. The rains come and go. This moment there is the grey clouds kissing the hilltops and the trees. The next moment it is pleasant sunshine.
The people dont bother at all this drizzling. Children go to school in raincoats and under colourful umbrella they look like flowers in the garden.

Rupess 5 to 10 per passenger and the cab drivers never nag about passengers . one two three .... just move on. sometimes four sit in the back of Maruti 800( all cabs are coloured Maruti). The passengers accomodate.Round the city the cabs move and move on ....
You can get good hotels with hot water facilties. Roasted Chicken, delicious pork dishes and oh more than everything the warmth of the quilt at evening while you enjoy TV ....with your family in a relaxed mood with the beautiful scenes of cloud -kissed hill tops.Heaven is here for the travellers.

You can also go to see the beautiful sights .The Elephant Waterfalls , The Watt Lake, and the Shillong Peaks and the Churches in the city itself and the beautiful Campus of North Easterna Hill University.... just marvellous to be there.
Then for a long drive ... you may go to Cherapunji...or Mousingram... where rain falls most? the question remains unanswered.
Beyond the skirts of Shillong there are other sights ... the Jayantia Hills where the Bengalee kings dominated once.. and the palace now deserted and ruined remaining only as hungry stones for the vistors...
