I am in a mood to discuss one-liners today. I am talking about one-liners painted mainly on vehicles. One can see these witty one-liners while travelling on Indian roads. Trucks plying across Indian roads have very interesting one-liners painted on their backside.

As you might already know that, truck transport is main mode of goods transport across India. Lakhs of trucks travel thousands of kilometers daily to serve the needs of Indian people. The truck drivers have a very special and unique life due to their occupation. I have enjoyed reading these one-liners and have developed a habit to have a look whenever I come across them.

One can classify one-liners into following categories:-

· Philosophical

· Humorous

· Witty

· Patriotic

· Common sense

· Poetic

· Spiritual

Sometimes these one-liners portray the experience of truck drivers. One can find some one-liners having comedy filled into them. The message they carry is very valuable and insightful. This wisdom comes from the live experience and hardships they deal with. It’s an interesting experience to collect these one-liners.

Truck drivers spent majority of their life-time on the roads. They travel thousands of kilometers irrespective of the weather, states boundary as the demand orders. These guys are not well-educated to enjoy the high paying job in the comfort of air conditioned office. They toil day and night to support their family living in villages. They send their monthly wages to their families residing in villages for their wives and children.

As the time progresses and life goes on, these guys develop their understanding towards life and the world. I guess the witty one-liners are born out of this understanding and outlook. Every movie buff Indian must have seen a bollywood movie portraying the life of truck driver once in their life. These one-liners can be found in many regional languages across India. Punjabi, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Oriya, Tamil, malyali, Gujarati are the languages to mention a few.
