Sonam Kapoor's metamorphosis as a fashion diva came a full circle atthe FilmfareAwards ceremonywhen she became the only Bollywood actress to wear a specially-designed gown byParis-based fashion house Chanel.

"I just kept staring at the beautifulbasic but simple white gown that they sent me. Yes, I think I'm the firstIndian celebrity to be dressed by Chanel in Bollywood. I'm so excited. I feltlike Cinderella before the ball. Never before have I been so excited aboutdressing up for an event," Sonam, who attended the award functionSaturday, told us.

Apparently, after seeing Sonam on magazinecovers like Verve and Elle, Chanel voluntarily decided to send her a gown fromtheir special-celebrity closet."That's right. My off-shoulder gown camefrom their special-celebrity collection," said Sonam who loves dressing upin light shades and avoids accessories.

"They just flew over three Chanelgowns for me to choose from. I liked the white one. I prefer light shades and Iavoid accessories. They take away from the basic look of your clothes. And whatChanel sent me for the Filmfare Awards certainly needed no enhancement. It wasdivine per se," she added.

"It was Sanjay Leela Bhansali who first compared me to her. I thinkit's a huge compliment. It isn't as if I'm making a conscious effort to dressfashionably. I wear what I'm comfortable in," said Sonam.
