discovery of Indian tales
...if you seek something with focus, you will chance upon it...most often, we lose focus and thus are never able to get what we reallyare looking for...this applies to every one of us, who is struggling tocome out of an average life that we lead to be something better andmore satisfied...
as they say, satisfaction lies under your skin, where you can never reach it let alone feel it
so in my case, though I am still trying to re-learn how to focus on important things, I try to satisfy my thoughts with small findings which help me feel comfortable in the long run.
Chance discussion with a close friend of mine brought me to know this wonderful thinker who has a very deep interest in the very topic I love- Indian mythology....
The amount of information Dr. Devdutt Pattanaikhas on the Indian Mythology is mind boggling and he has continued toamass more such knowledge for people like me to read and learn and alsoto spread the information among those who really need to go back toIndian mythology to know where we, our thoughts and beliefs and ourattitdes came from...
this is the discovery that I think is very important to me to be able to understand the perspectives of the Indian mindset, my own mindset and how I could go beyond the limited thought process I have to do better...
Esp. these tales will help me understand the South North divisive thought process that had been existing for a while, though at the current stage, these are limited only to smaller towns, but this divide still has shaped many a lives in India. apart from these, the tales about Mahabharata, Ramayana, the Yakshas, Gandharvas their role in shaping the thought process of those times, the role of Narada in mythology...
I am elated to discover this treasure trove of stories that once upon a childhood time I was hooked on to through the ever wonderful and immortal world of Amar Chitra Katha. I still have those books with me albeit in some tattered conditions which I thought someday my kids might like to read... hope that will happen esp. given today's times when kids look at nothing but new things which last hardly half the time they took to being manufactured and brought to the display counter...
But for myself, now reading someone else's perspectives and those tales themselves again is going to be a great learning esp. in the time of modern management and workforce mindset..

in today's times, the current 90s and 2000s generation also needs to understand past view points which have made their parents and seniors who they are today...
Hopefully a lot of you who read this will also enjoy it in the time you have on hand...
