In India, Islamic scholars always speak and write about the virtues of the religion, claiming it to be pure, preaching love and harmony whereas in reality we see retributive justice being resorted to by masses of this faith. Following Ayodhya, Karsevaks in Sabarmati Express were burnt alive about which no mainstream media worries. They are targeting Narendra Modi for the subsequent carnage as state sponsored terrorism. Some where in US some idiot desecrated Holy Quran the visuals of which was broadcast by a Private TV, then Mobs in the troubled state of Kashmir went on a rampage. contrast this with the nonchalance of the majority population when terrorists attacked Aksherdam temple or for that matter when Periyar EVR garlanded the photo of Lord Ram with chappals. Hindus believe in retributive justice but that will be administered by the God and not humans. when a Supreme Court judge Markandeya Katju called the behaviour of a Muslim student as being talibanistic, the student objected to this word resulting in the judges withdrawing the judgment and requesting the CJI to post this to another bench. Even learned Muslims claiming to be liberals like Shabna Azmi complain  that she does not get a house in Mumbai for Rent, Salman Khan says Mumbai terror attack is hyped because the targets were affluents. The Shia- Sunni clashes, Kurd and Kurmi clasheds in Pakistan and Iran also are a start reminder that there is something fundamentally wrong either with the religion or with the way it has been interpreted over the years. The Madrassa schools talk about the virtues of Islam but also try to brainwash the student about the infidels called Kafirs. The Maulvis always take stand against their own women be it Shah Bano or Imrana. They detest modernisation as we find Talibans running riot in Afgan-Pak borders and villianise late Shah of Iran. They cry hoarse on ban imposed on veils called burquas - even liberals object to this. 

The recent chopping of hand of a Professor in Kerala for he framed a question from a Malayalam novel with the character named Mohammad as being slanderous reminds the intolerence level. No single Muslim in India condemned this barbaric act.

May be Prophet Mohammad himself has to descend once again on this earth to clear all this misgivings and modernise Islam.
