WHAT A FALL THERE MY COUNTRYMEN

We now observe a perceptible but alarming fall in moral standards which was being upheld in our political domain till recently. An Independent Member of Assembly assumed office of the Chief Minister of a backward state and amasses wealth disportionate to his known sources of income. CBI sleuths raid his office, residences and he holds the ruling coalition responsible and intimidates to reveal the names of those who benefited from his scam.

Two Reddy Brothers who were responsible for blossoming of lotus in Karnataka raise a banner of revolt against an elected CM and hold hostage their supporters in 5 star hotels in Andhra Pradesh while the whole of the state was suffering from calamitous floods. The party with a difference could not order their expulsion but works out a compromise formula humiliating for the incumbent CM who eats a humble pie.

An innocuous fast statehood for telengana by TRS chief Chandrasekar Rao supported by vested interests within the ruling coalition brusts in to a full blown crisis with the HomeMinister who instigated this first running for cover and calling for an elusive consensus.

Worst still Madhu Koda's wife wins in the elections. Still worse, Guruji Sibu Soren manages to ascend to CM post in Jharkand due to a fractured verdict with the support of BJP who were vociforous in their demand for his sacking when Soren was convicted of murder of his PA.

The commission of enquiry headed by Justice Liberhan releases a hotch potch report indicting senior BJP leaders but sparring Atal Behari Vajpayee and PV Narasimha Rao. The country's PM apologises for having dragged AB Vajpayee in to this controversy even though he is equally culpable as his successor Advani.

IT is disgusting and we are now looking forward to a younger leadership to clean up this mess and bring back values to our politics.

Rahul could be the man we are just waiting for.
