    • PM'S SOLUTION TO KASHMIR ISSUE
    Long time ago, When Rajiv Gandhi assumed power, he formed many missions called technology missions under the stewardship of his friend Sam Pitroda. Today, almost 2 decades after his assasination, Dr.Manmohan Singh is abdicating his responsibilities in solving problems of the nation by handing over this task to Group of Ministers and Empowered Group of Ministers whatever name you choose to call these handpicked men. At any given point of time more than one GoM is at work and members usually skip meeting if they happen to be in both of them. Kashmir was in flames primarily due to the fact that  PDP and its leader Mehbooba Mufti could not digest their electoral reverses and they are anti national to the core. No one can forget that Mufti Muhammad Sayeed an ex Congressman who walked out of theparty with VP Singh bartered the honor of the nation by exchanging terrorists to secure release of Rubiya Sayeed. This man unfortunately for India could inspire Kashmiri Muslims when National Conference made a monumental mistake of alinging with BJP. They emerged as the single largest party and UPA Chairperson made another grave mistake of putting him in to power with her party's backing. 4 years after Mufti brought down the coalition government under the guise of portest against provision of temporary shelter to Amarnath Yatris. It was too late for Sonia Gandhi to realise her mistake of having installed an anti national to the CM's chair in Sri Nagar. We could have installed Geelani as CM instead or Shabbir Shah of JKLF. They could have been educated about the need for Kashmir to be with us. They are not back stabbers like Mufti and his daughter. Stone pelting masses in Kashmir were dealt with force as is being done in any society. But protests started mounting. Behind these anti people protests were Mufti and his team. Mehbooba would not settle anything less than a private audience for the sepatists with the Prime Minister. PM was keeping a low profile leaving the task of managing the inferno to a more efficient and forthright Home Minister. One should not forget that it was  under Jagmohan as Governor of Kashmir, we won Kashmir from the clutches of separatists.

    This time around Dr.Singh formed one more committe which consists of eminent citizens like Narayana Murthi to offer solutions to the problems of Kashmir. IT is a widely held belief that Kashmiri youth have taken int o rioting because of lack of employment opportunities which is only a half truth. Article 370 has alienated the Kashmir from rest of India of which every Kashmiri politician has no regrets at all. All such unrest stems from the fear of losing support of the masses by separatist elements. One could easily find that anti India protests emanate only from the valley and that too from such areas as Srinagar, Baramulla , Shopian and all. It is here the turnout in elections were dismal. To call this Kashmiri anger against Indian occupation is a blatant lie and a challenge to our integrity.

    The Kashmiri people need to be educated about the virtues of being with Indian union. PM could have instead formed a committe of successful Muslim personalities like Dr.Kalam, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ustad Bismillah Khan Sarod mastero and all such personalities to talk to Hurriyat. They could influence the separatist elements much better than the personalities that the PM believes could solve the issue. Dr.Karan Singh could also be roped in to negotiate with them because he commands respect as the son of erstwhile ruler of Kashmir. IF this fails, probably  we need to demonstrate that we mean business as China did it to Tibet. We should resist any temptation to engage Pakistan in this issue.
