    • THE UNFATHOMABLE TN VOTER
    The much expected elections results to TN Assembly are now out with the electorate handing over a surprisingly decisive mandate in favor of Jayalalitha and her AIADMK to form a government of its own contrary to a close contest. This could have even surprised most ardent admirers of AIADMK and is a culmination of back door manouvres by her friends in media, and elsewhere. The DMK which was hoping to get reelected on the basis of its performance has got one of the severest drubbings in its history. This time around DMK and its supremo were blackmailed by its perceived ally Congress Party. 2G Scam was used as a weapon to silence DMK and forced to concede more seats that Congress actually deserved. The entire media went to town with cock and bull stories of a big scam which not existed atleast to the scale of the build up. Messages were conveyed to the extent that the perceived loss- total loss in all three methods of evaluation used by CAG amounting to a monumental 170000 crores was solid hard cash siphoned from Exchequer to Gopalapuram, the residence of TN CM Mr.Karunanidhi. The perceived clout of his family in TN Cine world resented by leading stars includng its one time friend Rajnikant was touted as a matter of resentment to the commonman who infact need not worry about this.

    This DMKGovernment was the most people friendly government enacting and implementing many poor people policies including subsidised rice through PDS, Free insurance Scheme, Provision of concrete houses to slum dwellers,write off of farm loans were all forgotten by the electorate who have voted for one of the most arrogant politician the world could ever have seen and who not in the recent past was seen as an epi centre and epitome of corruption.

    if there is one politician in India who has never fought for people's causes and ascended purely through political contacts at various levels it is Jayalalitha. She has never been attending sessions of Assembly and resting at a hill resort with her friend even when burning issues were facing the people. She had friends in the media, political circles, higher echelons of power in Delhi. When she offered to support UPA if they dump Raja, Dr.Manmohan singh refered her as Dr.Jayalalitha as if she is awarded this prestigious degree by a foreign university whereas she is only a matriculate.

    Jayalalitha could delay the legal process for years together and yet a friendly media never highlights this. Whereas when Kanimozhi is chargesheeted, they react with glee. The victory of Vijayakant has proved that Tamil Nadu youth still remain unattracted to tinsel world. Youth hanker in to get in to riches quickly without working hard. Tinsel world is where such things are possible. TN youth do not know that but for the work of DMK for decades, they would never be in a position to talk on equal terms to upper elites as their ancestors were all treated with disdain in times not far behind. DMK and its leaders have fought for the equal rights of the underprivileged. It is not new to Tamil nadu for they only defeated Kamraj who made education accessible to common man.

    A Man like Stalin who toiled all through his career as a politician and later as a Minister and worked for the masses has to struggle.

    I pity the TN Voter for he will reap for what he has sown.
